Job Description:

**This work location is a home office. Any qualified U.S. worker will be

permitted to work out of a home office within the same Metropolitan

Statistical Area (MSA).

Will participate as part of the Core Infrastructure group responsible for

providing Cloud services, core services, and hosting infrastructure support

to PTC’s Cloud Services application delivery business missions. Will

deploy, configure and monitor centrally-managed or client-specific servers

configured to specifically deliver PTC applications, including AWS, MS

Azure, physical, and virtual systems. Will provide support and act as a

vendor liaison for all supported operating systems and high-availability

hardware vendors (Sun, Dell, and Cisco). Will recommended configurations

for secure and reliable system operation and monitor backups and disaster

recovery hardware, software, and configurations. Will provide consulting

services concerning system configuration, hardware procurement, computer

security, and system administration training. Will provide support and

administration of applications and tools to assist in the automation of

Cloud Services operations and monitoring. Will develop creative

resolutions to complex problems and act as an internal Information

Technology specialist concerning complex technical and business matters.

Will contribute to and champion the development of departmental goals and

objectives. Will provide infrastructure support for supported operating

systems (Unix, Linux, Solaris, Windows) as part of client-negotiated

Service Level Agreements. Will perform core services patching and monitor

hardware and software inventory.

Education & Experience Requirements: Master's degree in Computer Science,

Information Technology, Information Systems, Mechanical Engineering or

related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus 3 years

of experience deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting Linux Operating

Systems. In the alternative, the employer is willing to accept a Bachelor's

degree and 5 years of experience as noted above.

Also requires: 1) Demonstrated expertise leveraging scripting languages

such as Shell, Python and Perl to automate and enhance application and

security functionality; 2) Demonstrated expertise deploying, maintaining,

and troubleshooting Linux, Unix, and Solaris Operating systems; 3)

Demonstrated expertise writing and compiling software packages and drivers

for CLI-based operating systems; and, 4) Demonstrated expertise performing

system integration levergaing Microsoft Active Directory, SAML, and LDAP

authentication protocols.
