exploration.We have an exciting opportunity for a System
Engineering Team Lead for Orion Camera to join the team with Nexus,
a teammate company.The System Engineering Team Lead for Orion
Camera will:
- Manage the SE activities of the Orion Camera.
- Support engineering flight project schedule, procurement
documentation, budget and system requirements documents.
- Develop and support sub-project requirement and verification
data packages to support architecture requirements, design,
verification/validation, operations, and sustaining
engineering.
- Conduct product life cycle reviews, coordinate integration,
verification, and validation activities.
- Work with requirements to align with hardware specifications
while understanding the verifications.
- Perform system engineering functions of projects and provide
user input feedback during the design process.
- Work with ground testing and flight operations testing of
hardware with end item documentation.
- Review verification and validation reports to verify compliance
with requirements.
- Participate and contribute to system requirements reviews,
preliminary design reviews, and critical design reviews.
- Participate and contribute to support the development of Orion
Con-Ops.
- Perform and review system level architecture trade studies and
analyses that will influence the overall electrical design and
performance.
- Participate in test, verification, and operation of the
as-built hardware.
- Work with team members and leads to identify risks, develop
risk statements, and plan risk responses.
- Work and present schedule and progress to customers.
- Must have good communication and organizational skills and the
ability to work in a team environment.
- Perform other duties as required.Requisition
Qualifications:
- Typically requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in
Engineering and normally possesses 5 - 10 years of related
experience. License and certification may be required.
- 10 years' of relevant experience in systems engineering.
- Knowledge and understanding of SE&I processes,
methodologies, tools, and technologies including model-based
systems engineering.
- Knowledge of test principles, tools, and processes needed to
develop test requirements.
- Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures
in the space hardware field, such as mechanical and electrical
system design, engineering drawings and sketches, and material
selection.
- Ability to prepare written documents and to verbally present at
various meetings.
- Able to organize and prioritize tasks in order to meet
deadlines and schedules with limited supervision.
- Experience working in a team environment.Requisition
Preferences:
- Knowledge of Flight Hardware and/or Flight
Processes/Paperwork.
- Experience with NASA processes (including EA-023).
