    Job Description

    PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

    The part-time lifePATH Wraparound Coach (PT Advisor II, lifePATH) is responsible for providing, instructing, coordinating, evaluating, monitoring, and modifying both academic and soft skill support services for lifePATH students pursuing the Academic Path. lifePATH students pursing an Academic Path enroll in traditional LSC courses with traditional LSC students and faculty. The Wraparound Coach assesses the strengths and challenges of each student on their case-load, assembles a support team based on the student's needs, provides one-on-one and small group support services and soft skill instruction, and assists in preparing students for campus and community internships.

    LifePATH is a program designed for college students who have difficulty with executive functioning. Executive functioning refers to higher order cognitive skills that mature throughout childhood and into early adulthood.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Advises students in assigned academic discipline(s). Acts as a case-manager, meeting with students on a regular basis to track their academic progress and success
  • Provides small group instruction and support in both academic and soft skills development to students on case-load
  • Collaborates with departments, instructors, and support services to meet student's academic and soft skill needs
  • Becomes familiar with course material, homework expectations, projects, and course testing norms for the classes of each student on case-load in order to facilitate student support and tutoring needs
  • Collaborates with the lifePATH Internship Program Manager to prepare and monitor students on case-load during campus and community internships
  • Monitors, evaluates, and tracks student progress; maintains student files and updates all required databases pertaining to academic and soft skill strengths and challenges for each student on case-load in order to determine supports and create and individual plans necessary for academic and soft skill success. Creates individual success plans for students in cohort group
  • Assembles, schedules, and facilitates Monthly Wraparound Support Team meetings for each student on case-load
  • Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
    • Ability to effectively work with students with disabilities who may have unpredictable needs and changing goals over time
    • Ability to make adjustments to plans, techniques, time-lines, and goals in order to assist students on their case-load
    • Ability to collect and analyze various forms of student data (assessments, grades, disability impact, soft skills and academic functioning, etc.) in order to match and develop supports, techniques, and team members
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills
    • Proficiency with common office software
    • Strong attention to accuracy and detail for tracking student success and student educational plans
    • Ability to communicate and work well with all levels of students
    • Ability to prioritize duties
    • Strong customer service skills
      PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

      The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

      WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:
      • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
      • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
      • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards
        REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
        • Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
          PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
          • Experience working with students who have unique barriers and experience in assisting these students with their educational success
          • Experience with case-management
          • Previous lifePATH work experience
          • Special Education Teacher Certification
          • Experience teaching or providing advising services to neuro-diverse populations
          • At least 2 years of related work experience in higher education
          • Degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or related field
            Salary

            Hourly Pay Rate is $24.48
