Design Engineer (full-time; multiple positions available)

The Woodlands, TX

TAAL Technologies Inc. is in need of Design Engineer(s) to work in The Woodlands, Texas and various and unanticipated locations throughout the U.S. to design electrical aircraft harness and aircraft structures.

Responsibilities:
Engage in wire harness modelling in CATIA V5 - harness Routing (EHI) and Fitting installation.
Coordinate activities for assigned personnel. Manage technical product quality within schedule requirements.
Actively work to improve daily processes, efficiencies, and quality of deliverables.
Work with team members who perform similar tasks to ensure that established policies and precedents are being followed when undertaking tasks within a technical discipline.
Analyze and create wire harness designs using Schematic drawings and Capital Harness.
Perform Wire Bundle calculations.
Perform aircraft Product Lifecyle Management (PLM).
Select components, connectors, wire sizes and conduits.
Design considerations for type of protections required while routing wire harnesses.
Define branching, bend radius, and color requirements per industry standards.
Design supporting brackets for the installation of wire harnesses using sheet metal/part module in CATIA V5.
Apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and perform tolerance stack up.
Maintain aerospace industry related and applicable documents.

Qualification:
Must have a Master's Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or related field, plus two (2) years of mechanical engineering experience as a Wire Design and Installation Engineer, Project Manager, Design Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, or related position. The two (2) years of mechanical engineering experience as a Wire Design and Installation Engineer, Project Manager, Design Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, or related position must include experience with the following:
(1) design of electrical aircraft harnesses using CATIA V5;
(2) analysis of wire harness designs using Capital Harness;
(3) performing aircraft Product Lifecyle Management (PLM); and
(4) design of aircraft structures. In the alternative, we will accept a Bachelor's Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or related field, plus five
(5) years of progressive post-bachelor's degree mechanical engineering experience.
Two (2) years of the five (5) years of progressive post-bachelor's degree mechanical engineering experience must include experience with the following:
(1) design of electrical aircraft harnesses using CATIA V5;
(2) analysis of wire harness designs using Capital Harness;
(3) performing aircraft Product Lifecyle Management (PLM); and
(4) design of aircraft structures. All experience may be acquired concurrently. Relocation may be required. Incidental telecommuting permitted.
