Director of Supply Chain, Advanced Materials needs to have a
passion for not being satisfied with the status quo. This role will
help drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing current
processes, identifying areas for improvement, and driving positive
changes throughout the operations. They will work with all
positions to explain the reasons for changing processes and how to
make those changes. Using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, the
Global Director of Supply Chain supports lean initiatives and
trains others to implement them.Responsibilities
- Lead the weekly and monthly S&OP process, driving effective
coordination between Finance, Marketing, Growth, and Operations to
optimize supply chain performance.
- Extensive experience in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP),
Sales & Operations Execution (S&OE), Sales Inventory Operations
Planning (SIOP), Integrated Business Planning (IBP).
- Develop comprehensive demand planning strategies to optimize
inventory levels and Ease of Doing Business (deliver high-quality
products on time).
- Identify potential risks to the supply chain and develop
mitigation plans.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, waste removal,
and cost reduction.
- Plan, facilitate, and execute continuous improvement events
using Lean & Six Sigma tools.
- Teach, lead, and coach cross-functional teams on Lean Six Sigma
tools and methodology.
- Continuously improve processes both on the production floor as
well as transactional by collaborating with multiple functions such
as logistics.
- Build complex financial models and planning tools from the
ground up with a strong track record in implementing planning
systems to enhance financial analysis and decision-making
processes.
- Collaborate with Demand Managers to continuously improve
forecast accuracy through evaluation of promotional activity,
inventory changes, consumption trends, customer type, geopolitical
issues, global strategic initiatives, category trends, and media
and advertising plans.
- Recap and analyze actual sales results to plan and in-season
sales and inventories on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis for
senior audience.
- Evaluate existing processes and workflows to identify
inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
- Establish a clear and well-articulated implementation
plan.
- Map out in detail the target condition.
- Clearly define methodology.
- Specify obstacles and ways to overcome them through continuous
improvement.
- Lead KPI Fire Continuous Improvement software for Advanced
Materials.
- Up to 30% travel.Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or related discipline.
- 10 years of professional experience within the Demand Planning
function, plus a strong understanding of the FP&A and Supply
Chain functions of a business.
- Experience leading teams and a passion for developing
people.
- Experience building complex planning tools from the ground up
with a strong track record in implementing planning methods to
enhance decision-making processes.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, matched with
impeccable analytical skills.
- Ability to work closely with a senior leadership team.
- No-compromises approach to the quality of work and a team
player.
- Thorough understanding of Supply Chain principles and
Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP) as well as strength in
inventory analysis and planning.
- Previous large MRP, planning and financial system experience
such as SAP or similar.
