Enbridge is actively seeking a Technical Manager, Asset Systems.
This dynamic person will be responsible for developing and
executing Asset System Strategies, Asset System Programs and Long-
Range Asset System Plans that drive safe, reliable, compliant and
cost-effective system performance. Additionally, you will ensure
CAPEX and OPEX investment decisions, over the lifecycle of the
assets, prioritize risk mitigation, cost efficiency, and long-term
performance across the system, aligned to Line of Business and
Business Unit Strategies. Collaborating across Asset Management,
Engineering, Integrity, Operations, Commercial Operations,
Regulatory, and Finance to drive data-driven system planning,
optimize asset investments, and enhance decision-making.

What You Will Do:
Asset System Strategy & Planning
- Lead the development and execution of Asset System Plans,
ensuring alignment with corporate and business unit
objectives.
- Define and prioritize investment needs based on asset
performance trends, regulatory risks, and business objectives,
ensuring the highest-value opportunities are pursued
Asset System Performance & Risk Management
- Analyze system performance, risk trends, and operational data
to drive investment prioritization and risk mitigation
strategies.
- Collaborate with Integrity, Operations, and Asset Class
Management to develop targeted risk mitigation strategies that
support asset lifecycle optimization for the Asset System.
- Apply ALARP (As Low As Reasonably Practicable) principles to
asset decisions, ensuring risk reduction strategies are
cost-effective and operationally viable.
Asset System Investments
- Work with Asset Investment Planning & Management to ensure
investment requirements are captured in long-range plans and
risk-informed decision-making is applied
- Provide technical oversight to ensure capital (CapEx) and
operational (OpEx) investments balance performance, risk, and
cost.
- Influence regulatory and commercial strategies by integrating
system-wide risk and performance insights into long-term
planning.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Execution
- Ensure compliance with corporate governance frameworks,
integrating Enterprise Asset Management standards and IMS
(Integrated Management System) requirements.
- Support governance and assurance activities, ensuring that
Asset System Plans remain aligned with business priorities and
regulatory expectations.
- Drive continuous improvement in data-driven decision-making and
asset system optimization
- This role ensures that Asset System Plans drive safe, reliable,
compliant and profitable operations, with clear accountability for
influencing investment decisions and risk mitigation strategies
across the each asset system.
- Asset System Plans influence investments ranging from tens to
hundreds of millions of dollars, requiring a balance of
performance, cost, and risk to ensure system-wide value
creation.
- Decisions directly impact system reliability, regulatory
compliance, capital investment prioritization, and long-range
business planning.
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Asset Management, or a
related field.
- 10+ years of experience in asset management, system planning,
operations or engineering within a gas transmission or related
industry.
- Deep expertise in gas transmission asset systems, including
pipeline integrity management, system reliability, and lifecycle
performance optimization.
- Experience with risk-based investment planning, regulatory
compliance, and system optimization.
- Proven ability to develop long-term system strategies that
balance performance, risk, and cost.
- Strong data analysis, forecasting, and asset optimization
skills.
- Experience with investment prioritization and risk modeling
frameworks.
- Ability to work across functions with Engineering, Integrity,
Operations, and Finance.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement
skills.
- Ability to influence investment decisions with data-driven
insights.
- Experience standing up new processes/departments to enhance
asset system planning and execution.
Preferred:
- Graduate Degree (Business or Technical).
- Operations, Engineering, or Commercial experience.
Working Conditions:
- Work performed primarily in the office.
- Travel approximately 15% of the time.
- Holiday and overtime work as necessary may be
required.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is
frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel;
reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to stand and
walk.
- The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 20
pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close
vision and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of
time.
- Numerous, often competing interests must be managed
concurrently whilst negotiating/influencing within and outside the
organization.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:
Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20
pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing,
sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect
color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability
to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
