The team is responsible for vessel technical operations which support our organizational goals. You will act as a liaison between the officers / crew, technical and commercial personnel, ensuring safety and operational efficiency.This position is based in our Houston office, working closely with Chartering, Operations, Vessels and Technical department. You will play a vital role in bridging ship and shore operations.Extensive travel activity to vessels within Americas must be expected.Key Responsibilities
- Company Representative for TORM in the area of operations, attend vessel mobilization and arrange local technical support to ensure optimal operational efficiency.
- Organize the planning, execution and follow up of vessel maintenance, repairs, surveys, equipment upgrades and similar tasks.
- Conduct technical inspections.
- Provide guidance to various stakeholders of local regulatory and technical requirements.
- Support in the investigation and analysis of accidents, marine casualties and near misses.
- Continuous improvement of the PSC KPI's.
- To communicate with shipboard management in order to provide them with maximum support from shore along with the vessel management team before, during and after SIRE inspection.
- To be an ambassador for One TORM Safety Culture - Driving Resilience Program.
- Provide local knowledge and relationships to deal with and predict behavior of US terminals and Authorities once issues happen with Special focus on USCG.
- Assist vessels with Q&A about USCG inspections, ballast water requirements and general US related terminal restrictions/requirements.
- Provide on-site technical support to US operations/chartering.
- Liaise with US terminals to ensure specific
knowledge/requirements is passed on to on vessels.To succeed in
this role, you bring
- Minimum of 2 years' sailing experience as management level officer, preferably on tanker vessels.
- Deep understanding of ship operations, both technical and commercial.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical staff.
- Strong cross-cultural awareness and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management and ability to build relationships.
- Goal-oriented, self-motivated and empathetic towards officers and crew on board.
- Previous experience as Ship Inspector / Auditor is preferred
