Pediatric Infectious Disease Faculty Opportunity University of Texas Medical Branch - Galveston, Texas University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB Health) Galveston, Texas UTMB Health is a $2.2 billion health science center comprised of five hospitals, an extensive network of outpatient clinics, and Schools of Medicine, Nursing, Health Professions, Public and Population Health, as well as a Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, three institutes and over 10 exceptional research centers. Pediatric Infectious Disease Faculty The UTMB Department of Pediatrics seeks quality candidates at the Academic rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to join their growing faculty. The successful candidate s primary responsibility will be the clinical service along with the mentoring, supervision, and teaching of UTMB residents and medical students. In addition, this candidate will also serve as Director of Pediatric Antimicrobial Stewardship for children s services. Current faculty members are engaged in wide ranging activities to include:

  • Clinical service which includes general inpatient at two hospitals and outpatient consultations at two clinic locations, with specific participation in Maternal-Child HIV program and Travel Medicine Program.
  • Research in respiratory viruses, bronchiolitis, asthma pathogenesis, and industry-funded clinical trials.
  • Educational activities involving medical students, pediatric residents, and research post-doctoral fellows.Candidate Requirements:
    • M.D. or D.O. degree.
    • Pediatric Residency / Fellowship in Pediatric Infectious Disease.
    • Board Certification or Board Eligible in Pediatric Infectious Disease.
    • A strong commitment to patient care, medical student, and resident education.
    • U.S. Citizenship or Employment Authorization to work in the U.S.
