We're currently looking for a Part Time Care Companion in Navasota, TX 77868

A lovely family in Navasota seeks a part time care companion for their 85 year old father to start in April 2025. Care is needed on Wednesdays and Fridays from 8am-12pm, providing support to alleviate the primary caregiver (his wife). The family also needs care on one Sunday per month from 10am-3pm. The client enjoys spending time outdoors, watching old western cowboy shows, and is generally independent, though he may require under the arm assistance when standing (client weight -135 lbs.). The client has Alzheimer's and may experience occasional unsteadiness, for which he uses a walker. He has been eating less and experiencing symptoms of depression. Additionally, there is a small, friendly Chihuahua in the home, though no pet care is required. The ideal caregiver will have a calm and patient demeanor, providing support with a gentle approach.

• Compensation: $20 per hour
  Schedule:
  
  • Wednesdays + Fridays, 8am-12pm
  • Sundays, 10am-3pm (1 Sunday per month)
    Responsibilities:
    
    • Engaging with the client
    • Light hygiene assistance, as needed
      Requirements:
      
      • Minimum of 2 years of paid, professional caregiving experience
      • UTD on CPR certification, or willing to renew
      • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
      • High School diploma or equivalent
      • Heimlich maneuver training
      • Spanish speaking is a plus
      • Able to provide at least 2 professional care-related references, or references that collectively cover at least two years of professional childcare experience, whichever is greater
      • Valid photo ID to complete ID verification
      • Able to successfully clear a background and social media check
        Compensation:
        
        The position pays $20 per hour, and the family is looking for 8-13 hours of care per week.
