Day In The LifeThe Senior Regulatory Analyst will be responsible
for regulatory compliance activities for the GSFSGroup of companies
and its products and services. The Senior Regulatory Analyst will
(1) analyze proposed and enacted legislation and regulatory
materials and communicate with interested parties on the same; (2)
coordinate regulatory filings for GSFSGroup; (3) interface with
governmental officials on regulatory compliance matters; (4) assist
with product initiatives; (5) collaborate and support management
and associates; (6) conduct research and communicate results; and
(7) prepare necessary documents. The Senior Regulatory Analyst also
will take action to enhance cross-functional coordination and
expand internal communications within GSFSGroup. As a Sr Regulatory
Analyst you will:
- Analyze and interpret proposed and enacted state legislation,
regulations, and administrative and identified public policy issues
to determine impact on products, states, and GSFSGroup businesses.
Propose and advocate necessary courses of action. Draft concise
summaries of the proposals to obtain the maximum desired result
from the intended audience. Provide ongoing updates to interested
parties.
- Effectively communicate with impacted GSFSGroup departments
regarding proposed and enacted legislation, regulations, and
administrative actions and identified public policy issues.
Communicate the company's position on legislative and regulatory
matters through accurate and persuasive emails, position papers,
comment letters, and other written product.
- Identify the need for and coordinate the preparation of
regulatory filings for products in collaboration with the
regulatory compliance or program design team, including
applications for certificates of authority, product provider
registrations, insurance policy and customer contract filings and
cancellations or renewals of the same. Interface with and maintain
relationships with government officials concerning applicable
compliance filings and to resolve outstanding issues.
- Research, prepare and make other compliance filings in
collaboration with the Managers or Directors in the Legal
Department.
- Assist with ongoing review, development, and implementation of
compliance processes and procedures including the implementation of
technology. Identify enhancements and improvements to the
regulatory compliance processes. Coordinate with internal
stakeholders on regulatory compliance activities.
- Conduct research using all available resources to carry out
regulatory and compliance responsibilities or as requested. Assist
with product development initiatives as assigned and effectively
collaborate with other GSFSGroup associates to achieve product
initiatives and goals.
- Assist with maintaining and safeguarding compliance and
regulatory files.
- Participate in special projects and perform other duties and
tasks as assigned. What We Need From You
- Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university is
preferred.
- 5-7 years related experience; or equivalent combination of
education and experience (Note: The college requirement may be
waived in special circumstances.)
- 5-7 years related compliance or regulatory experience and/or
training in the insurance or automobile services industries
Required or
- Experience with property casualty insurance regulatory filings;
as legislative or regulatory staff; with automotive finance and
insurance companies; and/or related paralegal experience in the
insurance or auto industries Preferred
- Attention to detail and strong analytical ability.
- Excellent oral and written communication abilities,
interpersonal and public speaking skills to effectively communicate
and work with management and state regulators.
- Interpersonal skills that develop high levels of trust,
confidence, and business partnering with management and associates.
Ability to develop strong working relationships with both internal
and external personnel.
- Ability to effectively and accurately coordinate regulatory
filings and compliance activities on a timely and responsive
basis.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to effectively
prioritize multiple projects to accomplish assigned duties under
deadline pressure with little direction.
- Ability to display both individual initiative and the ability
to work in a collaborative team environment.
- Proficient research skills. Ability to create and present
effective arguments to support GSFSGroup's position on legislative
and regulatory issues.
- Ability to handle increasing responsibility and complex
assignments.
- Proficient computer skills including the use of computerized
legal research tools and other software programs to complete
projects.
- Adaptability and flexibility. Able to support and handle
change.
- Ability to apply common sense.Physical and Environmental
RequirementsThe physical requirements described here are
representative of those that must be met by an associate to
successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While
performing the duties of the job, the associate is required on a
daily basis to analyze and interpret data, communicate, and remain
in a stationary position for a significant amount of the work day
and frequently access, input, and retrieve information from the
computer and other office productivity devices. The associate is
regularly required to move about the office and around the
corporate campus. The associate must frequently move up to 10
pounds and occasionally move up to 25 pounds. Travel
